For 2 ½ hours, your kids will play, dance, tumble, create and eat pizza while you catch a movie or enjoy a restaurant that doesn’t offer highchairs. The cost is cheaper or comparable to a babysitter (depending on how many children you have), but offers a really fun alternative than staying home.

Aunt Jean's Toy Store in Montclair is hosting another puppet show this Friday at 6:30. They've moved the show out of their Willow Street shop and over to Crane Park, the triangular park in Lakawana Plaza. For $5 a kid (and free for grownups), this one-hour event is definitely worth it.

Darlington County Park in Mahwah has three lakes and the entrance price is fairly reasonable, particularly if you’re a Bergen County resident. Two of lakes are for swimming (the third is for fishing) and both have sandy beaches, shallow areas for the littlest of water babies and large, deeper patches for serious fun in the water.
